Eastern White Cedar (EWC), also, is an ideal product for exterior siding. Like western red cedar, it also has a high insulation value and natural protection against mold, moisture, temperature changes and insects. EWC does have a smaller exposure allowance than WRC, and it contains flat grain which makes it somewhat more economical than western red cedar.
