As a forest products distributor, we feel a responsibility to address the environmental impact of the forest products industry. Humans have always, and will always, rely on trees for shelter, paper, fuel and countless other wood fiber products. In the past (and still today, in some parts of the world) forests have been mismanaged, resulting in a perception that our need for wood cannot be balanced with a desire to protect a beautiful, diverse environment for wildlife and recreation.

Today, the companies who provide lumber, plywood and paper have implemented techniques to fulfill the unprecedented demand for their products while meeting the need to protect treasured old growth timber, wildlife habitat and clean waterways. While there will always be room for improvement, we are proud of the progress and efforts of our suppliers to protect our most renewable resource – trees.
